captain Les Gallagher Capt. Les Gallagher has fished 15 seasons
in the Azores since 1987 and
also run charter boats in Ghana
Ascension and the Cape Verdes.

As a Captain in the Azores,
Les still holds the current record of
112 blue marlin caught per boat per season
and landed the biggest Azorean blue marlin ever.
The fish weighed in at 1307lb and
was the third biggest ever caught in the Atlantic at the time.

Although still fishing part of the year in Cape Verde
and the Azores, these days Les is spending most of his time
working as a Marine Life Artist with the Department of
Oceanography and Fisheries, University of the Azores.
